On 5 August 2026, Shamawar Elektrika Sdn Bhd hosted a site visit at Plant 2 in Behrang, Tanjung Malim, as part of the Vendor Development Program with Telekom Malaysia (TM). The visit focused on the development of the Smart Pole project and provided an opportunity for both organisations to assess the facility’s production capabilities and review the progress of the product development.

The programme began with a technical presentation and discussion involving representatives from TM and Shamawar Elektrika Sdn Bhd. The session covered key development strategies, product specifications and deployment capabilities related to the Smart Pole infrastructure, allowing both teams to exchange technical knowledge and discuss the requirements needed to support the project.

The TM representatives were also taken on an on-site tour of Plant 2 to gain a better understanding of Shamawar Elektrika’s manufacturing capabilities. The visit included an inspection of the manufacturing layout, structural testing facilities and specialised equipment used to support the production and development process.

A product demonstration was conducted to showcase the Smart Pole prototype and its integrated components directly at the facility. The demonstration allowed the teams to review the product’s development and assess the components against the required standards, while providing an opportunity to identify areas for further improvement and development.

The site visit reflects Shamawar Elektrika’s commitment to strengthening its production capabilities and supporting innovation through meaningful industry collaboration. Through the Vendor Development Program with Telekom Malaysia, the initiative encourages knowledge sharing, technical development and continuous improvement towards the successful development and deployment of Smart Pole infrastructure.
