In 2025, Shamawar participated in the KUSKOP-organised and MARii-facilitated Supplier Benchmarking & Technology Exchange Trip to China, supported by MIDF, MIDA, MITI, and key anchor partners like PLUS, UEM Edgenta, TM, and TNB. The initiative focused on advancing Malaysia’s Infrastructure and Energy Digitalisation sector through global technology benchmarking and knowledge exchange. It explored innovations in EVs, smart cities, AI traffic systems, battery safety, and digital energy, directly supporting national frameworks including NETR, NIMP 2030, the Malaysia EV Roadmap, and TNB Smart Grid under Platform Tenaga MADANI.
The Malaysian delegation visited leading facilities like CATARC and TechOnecharge in Shenzhen, gaining deep insights into EV certification, battery safety testing, compliance, and charging interoperability. They evaluated modular DC fast chargers, smart monitoring, real-time tracking, and cloud-based grid-adaptive demand controls. These solutions hold significant application potential for Malaysia, including highway smart-charging corridors, integrated data platforms, grid management, and commercial EV charging hubs across campuses, hospitals, and industrial zones.
Strategic discussions with SEARI/LianLian Ruike addressed Virtual Power Plants (VPP), electricity trading platforms, BESS, inter-grid settlements, and a proposed Malaysian Digital Energy Compliance Framework for smart grid devices. Talks with TechOne China centered on integrating PV, BESS, and inverters for revenue generation, smart land use, and future local manufacturing of EV chargers. Engagements with NARI/State Grid China further provided vital knowledge on real-time grid monitoring, dynamic pricing, demand response, and AI-driven energy intelligence.
Shamawar actively positioned itself to support a role as a National Aggregator for Energy Trading and Infrastructure Data under the LEGA initiative within Platform Tenaga MADANI. Additionally, targeted business matching with GOTION High-Tech explored opportunities in battery supply, smart energy storage, and local assembly. These engagements establish solutions tailored for TNB, TM, PLUS, and UEM Edgenta, spanning highway DC fast charging, smart building optimization, VPP deployment, EV battery lifecycle management, and AI energy analytics.
This China exchange marks a strategic milestone in Shamawar’s transformation into a future-focused energy and AI technology organization. By bridging global technical expertise with national digitalisation priorities, the company strengthens local capability development, supply chain resilience, and technology transfer. Partnering with leaders like SEARI, TechOne, NARI, and GOTION empowers Shamawar to drive Malaysia’s smart-grid development, EV ecosystem expansion, renewable energy trading, and inclusive public energy participation.
