In October 2025, Shamawar conducted technical visits to CHINT Global in Wenzhou, Zhejiang and Shanghai, followed by GOTION High-Tech in Hefei, China. Led by Zainuddin Hassan, Business Development Director, the visits focused on strengthening strategic partnerships and exploring advanced technologies in smart metering, energy distribution, battery storage and EV energy solutions.

At CHINT, the Shamawar team visited manufacturing facilities and R&D centres to gain insights into smart meter production, MCCB, ACB, relay systems, RMU, AIS and GIS switchgear, transformers and containerised substations. Technical discussions also covered TNB-compliant smart meters, SGP and SIRIM requirements, automation and potential localisation opportunities for Shamawar’s Behrang manufacturing facility.

The visit to GOTION provided first-hand exposure to battery cell and module production, BESS, CESS, BMS, PCS and inverter integration. Discussions focused on 430 kWh and 1 MWh BESS configurations, Malaysian grid requirements, TNB’s CESS requirements, quality testing and the potential development of GOTION’s Malaysia Localisation Program with Shamawar.

Both engagements identified opportunities for technology transfer, local manufacturing, licensing and co-development aligned with Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR), TNB Grid RP4, Smart Meter RP4, Data Centre initiatives and the CESS/BESS roadmap. The teams also explored ESG practices, recycling processes and circular-economy models for energy technologies.

The CHINT and GOTION visits strengthen Shamawar’s efforts to develop local manufacturing capabilities and contribute to Malaysia’s smart-energy ecosystem. With potential collaborations in smart meters, switchgear, BESS and energy solutions, Shamawar aims to support future TNB programmes while advancing its role as a strategic technology and energy partner.
