The terminations incorporate a high-quality contact system, ensuring a reliable current transmission from the cable conductors to the busbars. The electrical interfaces between the silicone stress relief cone to the cable and bushing are kept permanently sealed using a pressure component. This element is housed in the protection cover, which is sealed with heat shrink tubing.The installation and plug-in of the inner cone terminations is simple, using a silicone component which is compatible with industry-wide standards. TE also offers a full line of other RPIT accessories such as bushings, insulating caps and up-to-date testing tools to meet the needs of our customers.

Supporting a wide application range, the design incorporates one body and stress cone adapters to cover any cross-sections from 25 mm2 to 300 mm2. The overall cut-back dimensions are designed to take up minimum space in the terminal box.

The design of SDF units type IN1 is based on the innovative QUAD BREAK’ principle. This design enables a drastic reduction in the intensity of arc, which is produced at the time of breaking. During breaking the current path is broken at four places in series, thus the arc is reduced. This leads to less strain on the contacts and the life of the switch is increased.The moving contacts are designed to make two parallel current paths, which produce high electro-magnetic attraction forces during high faults and increase the contact pressure, this eliminates chance of arcing at the contacts and allows the fuse to safely clear the fault. The self-cleaning contacts ensure wiping of deposits during each operation and increase the life of the contacts. Telescopic shaft feature enables the operating shaft extension up to 25mm.
